| Author: Dr. Aakanchha Rathore |
| Abstract: Access to financial services is increasingly becoming a key factor in achieving sustainable economic growth, especially in developing and emerging economies where financial inclusion is still low. This study explores the potential of Financial Technology (FinTech) to promote financial inclusion through access to low-cost, efficient, and accessible financial services. The research is conducted based on a systematic review of the latest literature, such as papers on digital payments, mobile banking, digital lending, financial literacy, the regulatory framework, as well as technological innovations that facilitate inclusive finance. The methodology adopted includes analysing and synthesizing the insights gleaned from academic articles to learn the key trends, opportunities and challenges of the financial inclusion that can be enabled using FinTech. These findings show that FinTech has a significant impact on financial inclusion for underserved groups such as low-income households, rural areas, women, and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Digital financial services lower transaction costs, financial access and participation in the economy. However, challenges such as the digital divide, cybersecurity risks, regulatory uncertainties, and limited digital literacy continue to hinder widespread adoption. It is concluded that implementing effective government policies, creating a friendly regulatory environment, investing in digital infrastructure, as well as financial education programs are crucial for strengthening the value of FinTech. By building these factors, FinTech can become an effective instrument to foster financial inclusion, decrease inequality and drive long-term sustainable development. |
