Author: Dr. S.C Patil and Mrs. Reshma Shivannavar
Abstract:

This paper examines the mediating effect of collaborative technology (CT) and its antecedents namely access to networks and mentorship, social support, and work family balance in determining organisational culture, organisational effectiveness, and work performance. The research focuses on the IT women employees in Karnataka who returned to work recently after taking the maternity leave and the research design is a quantitative research design using a survey data of 395 surveyed respondents. The analysis of the data was performed with the help of the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) in SmartPLS, which gauged the convergent and discriminant validity, path coefficients, effect sizes, and Importance-Performance Map Analysis (IPMA). It was found that organisational effectiveness and organisational culture are most effective predictors of work performance, and that CT has a positive impact on organisational culture and organisational effectiveness. Antecedents that can be improved by networks, mentorship, social support, and work family balance are factors that play a significant role in the adoption of CT which can in turn improve performance outcomes. IPMA points out the fact that the greatest leverage on enhancing employee performance is to focus on the organisational effectiveness, culture and CT. The results highlight the value of the supportive resources combined with technology to achieve an effective workflow, clear communication, and teamworking organisational culture. This research can be useful in organisations that are striving to maximize the use of technology and support systems to promote both the cultural and performance results. It also offers guiding research in various sectors and settings in future, especially in trying to comprehend the long-term and cross-cultural impacts of collaborative technology.
